With a voice “as resonant as a church bell and as crisp as a fresh Macintosh apple,” soprano Lynn Norris is equally at home on the opera, operetta or concert stage. Her opera appearances in New York and at regional houses have encompassed roles as diverse as Lady with a Hand Mirror in Postcards from Morocco, Blondchen in Abduction from the Seraglio, Nanetta in Falstaff, and The Forest Bird in Siegfried. Her performances in the world premieres of Marjorie Maxine Rusche’s She Stoops to Conquer (Kate Hardcastle) and Jorge Martin’s The Mappined Life (The Niece) received critical acclaim in The New York Times and American Record Guide.
In concert, Lynn Norris has been a soloist in such works as Poulenc’s Gloria, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Duke Ellington's Sacred Concerts, Mozart’s C minor Mass and “Exsultate, jubilate” motet, the Vaughan Williams cantata Dona nobis pacem, Fauré’s Requiem, Schubert’s Shepherd on the Rock, and Mahler’s Fourth Symphony. A frequent recitalist, she has sung world premiere works by New York composers Gerald Ginsburg and Luis Andrei Cobo. She has released a CD of songs and arias entitled “Si J’Etais Roi" and will sing 3 songs by Luis Andrei Cobo on an album of new music to be released early 2011 on Naxos.
